So it’s no surprise that we also work with IntoUniversity, a national charity that supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to attain either a university place or another chosen aspiration.

We’re delighted to be directing our support towards IntoUniversity’s local learning centre in Hackney South. We’ll also be bringing our own skills to the organisation and the young people it helps.

IntoUniversity Hackney South opened in 2010 and was the sixth learning centre to open in the IntoUniversity network. IntoUniversity Hackney South is firmly established within the local community. It has developed strong partnerships with a number of local schools, organisations and of course, with the families that the centre serves.

Last academic year, 1,529 students in total were supported by IntoUniversity Hackney South.

73% of school leavers from the centre gained a university place in 2019, compared to 38% of students from similar backgrounds locally and 26% of Free School Meals students nationally.
