Everyone seems to be doing it this Christmas, Instagram feeds are jam-packed with homemade wreaths and last week, Kim got stuck in. She spent an evening at a friend’s home doing a wreath making class run by Louise at Garland Flowers – a florist based in Muswell Hill.
They were met with canapés and prosecco and a car boot full of foliage, berries and all sorts of Christmassy smells. Each person was given a ring which they covered with moss to create a base as they were talked through the history of the wreath. They spent the next couple of hours piecing together their wreaths with expert guidance from Louise and glasses well topped up! They finished with a real sense of achievement and a beautiful wreath to take home.
There are lots of florists all over London who run wreath making classes over the Christmas period, the link to Louise’s website is below. Alternatively, you could go to the New Covent Garden Flower Market or Columbia Road, pick up your own foliage and make one at home! We’re definitely thinking about Aldrich Christmas wreath making in 2017!
Merry Christmas to all our readers and see you in 2017!
