I joined Aldrich & Co earlier this year, my first job in the City. It took a while before I had the time to venture out for lunch to explore as the pace in the office is fast, with the constant flow of candidate enquiries especially during their lunchbreaks! After hasty lunches and exhausting the Pret and Pod menus, I decided to be more adventurous and try something new. A friend and I discovered Ekachai in an arcade just by Liverpool Street where we had the most delicious authentic South East Asian meal.

The first time, I played it safe with a favourite – Nasi Goreng. It’s a good benchmark and Ekachai definitely passed the test! Not long after I returned with a group of friends. The restaurant itself is fairly small and always really busy at lunchtime, so we weren’t sure whether they’d be able to squeeze us in. We were in and out within 45 minutes – no stress and delicious food as before! It’s super-efficient during the lunchtime rush, is great value and proper South East Asian flavours and dishes! It’s one of my favourite spots for lunch in the City and well worth a try!
