Description

A very exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a dynamic Hedge Fund based in the West End.

This varied role requires you to be a real team player. Being the point of contact for all IT related support in the London office as well as additional operational responsibilities in the US, this role would suit a dedicated individual with excellent communication skills

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support for all client applications and hardware including:
  • Windows 10
  • Office 2016 (with Microsoft Exchange 2010)
  • Market Data support and administration (Bloomberg, etc)
  • TCP/IP (DNS, DHCP etc)
  • Miscellaneous third party tools (Enterprise Vault, Avamar, etc)
  • In-house built Excel add ins and applications (Internal .NET Trade Blotter)
  • Dell workstations, laptops, and printers
  • Mobile devices and Remote Access
  • Active Directory administration
  • New user setup, hardware installation, permissions, application testing
  • Setup, installation and documentation of support procedures
  • Proactive monitoring of environment and PCs using various tools
  • Video conferencing support – Polycom/Avaya/GoToMeeting/Blue Jeans

 

Requirements:

  • IT – min 5 years’ experience, most recent 3 years within Finance
  • University Degree (or equivalent)
  • ITIL Service Management Foundation
  • Lots of experience using the following:
  • Office 2016, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Active directory administration
  • Exchange 2010 user administration
  • Market Data applications – Bloomberg, Macrobond
  • Good understanding of control principles – Release, Change Management, etc
  • Used to working to best practice methodologies such as ITIL
  • GPOs
  • Avaya Phones
  • Apple and Android devices
  • Powershell Scripting
  • Citrix/VPN Remote Access
  • Airwatch
  • VMWare VDI
  • Veritas Backup Exec
  • Avamar
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent triage/problem diagnosis skills
  • Excellent analytical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly assess situations and adapt accordingly
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and well organised
  • Must be a self-starter who will work well in a busy team
