With time increasingly precious, there is no better way to see friends, clients, and set yourself up for a super productive day than with an early breakfast meeting.

Welcome to our Aldrich Guide to the best breakfast spots in the City:

The Hawksmoor (open from 7am) is a great option, particularly if sampling the best steak in London is on your To Do list. The breakfast espresso martini isn’t something we’ve sampled yet, but rumour has that it slips down nicely and packs quite a punch! Whether you go for a traditional Full English or the lean and green option avec free-range eggs delectable, you won’t be disappointed with this long established City haunt and its fast and friendly service.

The Ivy City Garden (open from 7.30am) is exquisite – bright and airy with the very high standards you expect from the Ivy group, and one of the most popular dawn to dusk dining experience in the City after only a couple of months. Spacious with exceptional service (you say speedy! and they are on it) we recommend the crushed avocado with seeds, chili and lime. It would be wrong not to mention that there are magnums of rosé to tempt you back after work.

The new hot topic in the office is the Ned (open 24 hours) right on top of Bank tube, it is probably the most convenient place to meet. Despite the 56,000 commuters entering/exiting the station in the morning rush hour, the inside is a tranquil haven. The facilities for club members are enviable, with open terraces, an outdoor pool, gym and the largest Hamman in Europe, but the breakfast (available to everyone) is the highlight. They have a devoted following, big sharing tables, and Burford Brown eggs give the Ned the edge in the omelette stakes. The coffee is exceptional.
