The heat was on at the annual Belvoir Castle Charity Shoot hosted by Their Graces the Duke & Duchess of Rutland in aid of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust and Belvoir Cricket & Countryside Trust.

It was boisterous and great fun – 5 drives with some very high and challenging “birds”.

The castle basked in sunshine and the estate looked spectacular swathed in Rhododendrons in full bloom.

After 5 hours we were absolutely exhausted, having fired close to  370 cartridges (it’s either my eyes or had those clays shrunk), and we had laughed so much that our sides hurt too.

The competition was  healthy  with Olympians and sportsmen challenging farmers and chaps from the city – all very good humoured as teams supported each other enthusiastically loading and giving helpful advice.  Plenty of advice! The Aldrich team gave it their all and were not disappointed.
