It’s that time of the year again, the world’s largest arts festival is back for the 71st year. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe begins its 24 day stint today and is showcasing a host of new talent! The fringe is not only a site for entertainment but also a site for talent spotting. Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie and Emma Thompson are just a trio of names which were a part of the award winning Cambridge Footlights troupe which perform at the Fringe every year. This year, like every, has a host of creative spectacles on offer. The shows range from tours by well-known comedians such as Katherine Ryan and Iain Stirling, to enchanting ‘Spoken Word’ tales about the Suffragette – Alice Hawkins and Arthur Conan Doyle.
However, if the 402 mile journey from London to Edinburgh is too much this August (or for those who have left it too late!) how about looking into emerging talent in your local area, from those ‘in the know’ we recommend http://www.londonpubtheatres.com/ and http://www.londontheatrereviews.co.uk/
You may just discover your own Stephen Fry in the process!
