On Sunday 4th November, Ten thousand torches lit the bare dark moat to bring the Tower of London to life. To mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

Each day this week a specially commissioned sound installation featuring choral music and words from Mary Borden’s Sonnets ‘To A Soldier’ has been played creating both a moving atmosphere to mark this occasion in history.

The Tower of London’s torch ceremony, entitled Beyond The Deepening Shadow, will be repeated every night until Remembrance Sunday on 11th November.
